What you get
Online stores with payment, stock and order handling that works properly on a phone, because that is where most South African shoppers will find you.
An online store is not a website with a basket bolted on. It is an operational system: it takes money, commits you to delivering, adjusts stock, and creates an obligation to a customer who now expects something to arrive. The parts that decide whether it succeeds are mostly the unglamorous ones.
Who this is for
- Retailers selling in person who want to reach beyond their immediate area
- Businesses currently taking orders through WhatsApp, email or direct messages
- Manufacturers and wholesalers selling directly for the first time
- Anyone on a marketplace who wants a storefront and a customer list of their own
- Stores whose current site loses people at the payment step
What is included
- Product catalogue with categories, variants, images and search
- South African payment gateways, so customers pay in rands by a method they recognise
- Stock control that reflects what you actually have
- Order management, from placement through to fulfilment
- Delivery and collection options, with rates that match how you really ship
- Automatic order and shipping notifications to the customer
- A checkout built to be finished, not abandoned
- Product pages structured so search engines can list them properly
Payment, locally
Card payment alone loses South African sales. Customers pay by instant EFT, by card, and increasingly by methods that never involve a bank card at all, and a checkout that offers only one of these quietly turns away people who were ready to buy.
We set up the gateways that suit your customers, test them with real transactions before launch, and make sure failed payments are handled visibly instead of leaving someone staring at a blank screen wondering whether they have been charged.
The checkout is where stores are won and lost
Most abandoned baskets are not caused by price. They are caused by friction: forced account creation, a delivery cost that appears only at the final step, too many form fields, a page that jumps around on a phone, or a total that suddenly differs from what the customer expected.
So the checkout gets disproportionate attention. Fewer steps. Costs shown early. Guest checkout available. Forms that behave on a mobile keyboard. It is the least decorative part of an online store and the part that decides your revenue.
Stock you can believe
Selling something you do not have is worse than not selling it. One oversold order costs you the refund, the goodwill and often the review.
Stock levels update as orders come in, and the store reflects what is genuinely available. Where you also sell in person, we work through how the two stay aligned, because that is the point where most small retailers come unstuck.
Found in search
Product and category pages are built to be indexed properly: clear headings, unique descriptions, structured data for products so search results can show price and availability, and clean URLs.
Category pages matter more than most store owners expect. Someone searching for a type of product rather than a brand name lands on a category, and a category page with nothing but a grid of thumbnails gives search engines nothing to work with.
How we work
We agree the catalogue structure, the payment methods and the delivery rules before building, because these three decisions shape everything else.
You get a working store to test with real products and real test transactions before launch. Your team is trained to add products, process orders and handle refunds, so the shop is yours to run from day one rather than something you depend on us to operate.
Questions we are often asked
Which payment methods can I accept? The South African gateways your customers actually use, including card and instant EFT. We advise on the mix based on what you sell and to whom.
Can I manage products myself? Yes. Adding products, changing prices and updating stock are everyday tasks your team is trained to do.
How is delivery handled? We set up the rates and rules to match how you really ship, whether that is flat rate, by area, by weight, free above a threshold, or collection.
Can it handle sizes and colours? Yes, through product variants, each with its own stock level.
What about existing products in a spreadsheet? They can be imported rather than retyped.
Can it connect to my accounting system? Often, depending on what that system supports. We confirm before it becomes part of the plan.
Where are you based? Pretoria, working with retailers across South Africa.
